“Olimpikas” in the Šiauliai district

Inspired by real life

Our history

The “Olimpikas” Association was born from a need and an inner calling to support people whom society often overlooks or fails to understand. It was inspired by personal experiences with people with disabilities who face social barriers. Their strength, challenges and desire to participate fully in society inspired action.

We realised that practical opportunities, understanding and support were lacking. On 10 December 2004, “Olimpikas” was born: a community that opens doors where they are often closed.

Strong first steps

The beginning of our community

One of the first events that brought together people with and without disabilities showed clearly that differences do not prevent a sense of community. The first successful project soon followed and helped people discover themselves through creativity. A vibrant community grew from a small idea into an increasingly strong movement.

How we see the future and what we believe in

Our vision

We envisage a world in which everyone, regardless of their circumstances or opportunities, feels valued, seen and important. It is a society based on respect, equality and the opportunity to grow together.

Our mission

We are bringing together the community of the Šiauliai district, where everyone feels valued, safe and accepted. We strive for social integration, defend human rights, and encourage an active lifestyle and meaningful cooperation.

People who create

Who are we?

Our community comprises people with and without disabilities, their families and volunteers. Our diverse experiences are brought together by shared activities, mutual support and a desire to create a more inclusive Šiauliai district. Every member can not only receive support, but also share ideas and contribute to the community.
